One of my husband's passions is music. He has played since high school. The guys he plays with now are the guys he played with in high school. They write and record music. They produce albums. Our basement is loaded with musical instruments and recording equipment.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum... I have no musical talent what-so-ever. I took lessons. I tried. I like music but, for me... music is like a foreign language that I have no hope of ever learning to read or translate... no matter how much I like to listen to it.
Zoe is on her way to loving music. She has definite musical preferences (just this weekend while watching VH1 we learned that 80s music gives her no choice but to get up and dance). Her favorite tv shows and movies are ones that have lots of music and singing. She also prefers different music at different times and is starting to make requests (although right now most of her requests are for the Backyardigans the Wiggles).
Whether Zoe follows in Daddy's musically talented footsteps or in Mommy's not so musically talented ones... she is getting TONS of exposure to all types of music and instruments. We're hoping some of them click with her.

Hehe, that's adorable! All those instruments, that's a kids dream come true! So what kind of music do Nick and his band play? Does he write, singe, play what instrument(s)?
Ok.. be honest.... doesn't 80's music make EVERYONE want to get up and dance? :)
Oh... I gave you an award! Stop by my blog to see what it is! :)
Came for your WW post, but I enjoyed reading this one. I've been exposing my boy Zach to music since before birth with the same hopes as your hub. Good to know that I'm not the only "crazy" dad out there. Great post!
That clip was too cute. How great to be exposed to all of those different instruments!
Very cool!
