Sunny flower... buzzy bee

I'm taking a photography class with Stacy (Stacy Mae Photography). She's a wonderful teacher... and a fabulous photographer. This sunflower came straight out of my camera.   I'm learning.  It's slow going... but I may understand my camera settings yet. (Understanding the settings and getting them to work for me may be 2 totally different things though).  I can tell you this... I am keeping that camera off of auto settings.  I am I am I am.

Great job! It's so easy to fall back on the auto settings and just use Photoshop. But how satisfying is it to know you can do those things yourself on the front end?

Nice shot!
Switching to manual is so tough. I made the big switch a few months ago. Very worth it!

It certainly makes the uploading and editing take a lot less time!

Thanks! Now if the girls would just sit still I could get just as good photos of them!

I would love take a photography class, like you said knowing all the setting on the camera is half the battle. The sunflower is amazing, I click on it and enlarged it and I love the bee and flower in focus and the blurred background. This is a great SOOC.

Now I just need to figure out how to take as good a photo when I don't have summer sunshine.

It seems pretty easy to get the shot when it's so nice and sunny. I just need to figure out how to get the shot when we're lacking sun.

I'm definitely feeling more confident about the settings and what they do. But... it absolutely is going to take practice practice practice to be able to get those settings to do what I actually want them to do. I wish it came easier to me.
