8 years ago today I put on a big poofy dress and walked down the aisle to start my life with Nick. We were surrounded by about 180 of our family and friends as we were married and then celebrated the beginning.
It is amazing how long and how short 8 years can seem. 8 years has definitely made a difference. For one thing... 8 years ago we certainly were younger (and thinner).
We had a vision of what our life would be and we've worked for 8 years to be where we are now. I have to say our life isn't quite as I pictured (stay at home mom??? where did that come from?) but it is a pretty near perfect life. We have 2 beautiful and healthy daughters. We have a comfortable house in a wonderful neighborhood. Nick has a good job that he likes. We have close friends. We have our family. We have each other.
I have a husband I love... and who loves me. I am a lucky woman.
Could we really ask for more out of 8 years?
Happy Anniversary Nick!!! Here's hoping the next 8 years are as wonderful and as easy as the first 8. I love you!

Happy anniversary, Colleen!! What a tribute. Your husband should do something VERY special for you!!!
Happy Anniversary Colleen and Nick!
Happy Anniversary!! I LOVE your wedding photos. Is that a cape in the first shot? VERY cool!!! My sister who was married in the UK in January wanted something like that and Mum talked her out of it. I think she's always regretted it.
btw: I did have a look for the Big Red Car over here but there was surprisingly little choice in the shops. Lots of DVDs and CDs and the occasional soft toy but that was about it. Soz. I'm sure you found many other things to bring a smile to their lips!
Happy anniversary! I love the wedding photos, you both looked gorgeous!
It is a cape! It was actually full length and hooded. A nice heavy satin material. I was so glad to have it since we actually had some snow flurries early on our wedding day. I'll have to see if I can find a better shot of the cape. I totally felt like a princess in that cape. I think I may have liked the cape even more than my dress. I swore I was going to shorten it and wear it all the time. 8 years later it's still full length and is hanging in Ana's bedroom closet.
Thank you for looking for the Big Red Car. I did find one on e-bay and bought it. Unfortunately it showed up in less than "excellent used condition". More like very played with and cracked condition. Oh well. Ana didn't know she was missing out. She was perfectly happy. One of these days (now that I finally took my pics off the camera!) I'll share some Christmas shots. lol
Thank you Mary! I have to work on scanning more of them in. I love looking at them every year.
Thank you Mara! As for VERY special... we did go out to a rather nice restaurant here in Madison. I am totally stuffed with expensive "modern French cuisine."
Thank you Christina!
A belated Happy Anniversary to the both of you!
