Every year in the beginning of May we get a big huge pink mess in our front yard thanks to a Flowering Cherry Tree. It's beautiful... but it's a mess. Those flowers get EVERYWHERE by tracking around on your feet. Our grass ends up looking like this...
Every year I try to take advantage of the pinkness to get some photos. Zoe's first May pink photo session in 2006 was the BEST.
Zoe's photos in 2007 weren't so great. She did not want to have anything to do with sitting in the petals. She wouldn't even touch them with her hands.
In 2008 I totally missed the mess. We were away. These are the only shots I have that year of pink flowers. (Cute hair cut though, right?)
In 2009 Ana had her first shot at the pink petals. It ended up being a very chilly May and it poured rain and knocked all the petals down suddenly. I still tried to get my shots. Zoe still wasn't interested in the petals especially since they were cold and wet. Poor Ana ended up with a wet tushy and was a little annoyed that the petals didn't taste as sweet as they looked.
This year it was chilly and windy... but I squeezed in some great shots right before a big rain storm.
I really look forward to next Spring. I think next year Zoe and Ana will both really enjoy the pink petals and help me get some amazing shots (as long as we don't get a huge rain storm!).

Girls Pink Polka Dot Dresses
Last year on Easter (2009) I got this photo of the girls together. Cute, right?
This Easter... this was the best they would let me get. Shouldn't it be easier as they get older? (Amazing how much the plants grew in huh?)
It was alright though. I did get plenty of shots of Zoe and Ana in their pink polka dot glory.
AND I got a shot of the girls with their 3 cousins ALL LOOKING AT THE CAMERA! (I amazingly got 2 or 3 other shots of all 5 too.)
A pretty good family shot.
Polka dot Ana.
Polka dot Zoe.
Silly girls. Zoe says "CHEEEESE!!!" and Ana says "TEEEETH!!!"
Oh my pink polka dot girls.

I guess they wanted the bed sheets changed
Zoe hasn't peed the bed in at least 6 months. Before that it was a rare occurance.
Last night she peed in her bed at about midnight. She's sharing a room with Ana while we're on vacation... so I wasn't changing the bed then and waking Ana. So, Zoe went back to sleep in my bed. Dry bed. Dry underwear. Dry pajamas.
Let me just say I didn't sleep well. Zoe is one wiggly sleeper.
At about 6:30 Zoe peed in my bed. I was not about to search for new sheets and remake the bed at that hour while on vacation. I grabbed towels from the bathroom. I put a towel under the sheet and a towel over the sheet and told her to get back in. Not really dry sheet. Dry towels. Dry underwear. Dry pajamas.
We all got up around 8am. We went in to get Ana (who had been singing in her crib for I don't know how long). Ana's diaper was soaked through. Another set of wet sheets and pjs.
I'm currently washing 3 sets of sheets from 3 different beds!!! ACK!!!
They could have just said "Hey Mom... we'd like some fresh sheets on the beds!"
I am going to be one tired cranky mommy today. Too bad I can't take a nap since the sheets are all in the washing machine.
