Except they insisted they sit with these big eyed flying squirrel and beaver stuffed animals. And a scribbled card on green construction paper. And then they made crazy toes. (Who does that with their toes????)
Then... right when I thought it would work out... Ana decided to play with her hair. And... while we're at it... let's stick a foot up in the middle where it can't be cropped out.
And then Zoe kind of zoned out but still kept smiling. It happened right when Ana decided to lean in and smile nicely. I'm not sure what she was doing with her arm though.
Then out of no where they both decided to stick their right feet up in the air when I thought I just might finally get a good shot. So I called it quits.
Almost quits. Then Ana said "wait wait wait... first take a picture of me like this!!!!" so I did.
And these were the best photos out of more than I want to admit I took.

i can't imagine how hard this is with TWO children. i can't get my kid to sit still to get holiday card pictures for all the lollipops in willy wonka's candy factory.
The last couple years I actually gave up even trying to get a photo of them together and would just pick a card with 2 photo spots... and I would get 1 good shot of Ana and 1 good shot of Zoe. Much easier. This year... I thought I would at least TRY to get them together. The photos are HORRIBLE... but they aren't what I want to put on my Christmas card either. :)
And yes... bribery doesn't work either. At least... it doesn't work on both of them at the same time.
i can't even threaten to send her to live with my grandmother any more, because she's found the secret nany candy stashes.
Oh... if I threatened to send them to live with either grandmother they would would probably take me up on that! That would never work for me.
Hopefully money will start working soon. I would totally pay them a couple bucks to sit and be cooperative and smile for the camera!!!
Oh...but they are so very cute! I always do..."you have to give me a few really good snaps, and then I want a really goofy, silly one!" Works every time. Although my girls are also very well trained and just smile on cue now when the camera comes out...years and years of beating them, I mean shooting them, I mean...you know what I mean. The years of training has paid off! :-)
You would THINK the girls would be well practiced on how to give a good photo. My girls must need a lesson from your girls!
LOVE THIS. I actually started a post just like this last night! Did you see my "outtakes" shot I posted on fb last night? I'm totally goin' with the "Merry Christmas from our weird family to yours!" theme this year! You'll totally think these are adorable when they're in their 20s. :)
I did see the outtake you posted on fb. Hysterical!
Can't wait to see more of those.
